Belated Egg Hunt

Yesterday was rather cloudy, but still nice enough to play outdoors so Kate and I "hid" Easter eggs in the front yard for almost two hours...somehow the Wonder Pets managed to hide and be found too.

Happy Easter, Part 2

More fun was had this afternoon as we combined the Molloy family Easter dinner with Kate's birthday party (I cannot believe she will be two this week!). After stuffing ourselves with a delicious meal, Kate opened presents and politely gave hugs and said thank yous. The opening of the presents looked something like this: four kids digging through mounds of treasure, Kate promptly "displaying" her new gift by saying "oooh" and then throwing it on the ground, Ally and Andrew begging to bring the next gift over for Kate, Kate pulling tissue paper out of the next gift, RJ pleading with Kate to open his present now please, Michael recording with the camera motioning for me to keep things moving along, more throwing, digging, begging and "ooh-ing" and little ol' (well not so little) me sitting in the background trying not to freak out as I watched the mayhem in front of me! Whew! Opening presents is the best!

Thanks Auntie Li for such a cute butterfly cake!

There was a slight appearance of a tantrum when she was told to come sit down so we could sing to her...

Everything was made "all better" once she realized "Happy Birthday" was the song to be sung and that meant cupcake time was very close indeed...

Kate had been waiting for this cupcake for months, and yes, I believed she enjoyed it imensely!

Happy Birthday, Peanut! Mommy and Daddy love you so very much and are so proud to call you our little girl! May Jesus continue to mold your sweet heart and bless you with His grace!

Happy Easter, Love Kate, Part 1

Perfect Day at the Zoo

So last year at this time, Kate and I braved the Detroit Zoo in freezing cold and wind...this year was a bit different. Michael joined us, along with some of our favorite people, for an amazing morning at the zoo in nearly 80 degree weather. As an added bonus, just when you thought it might be getting too warm, a gentle breeze would pick up and cool things down just enough. Kate loved being outside, loved seeing the animals and loved being with her family and friends. Michael and I so enjoy these moments with our sweet little girl who is growing up much too quickly. Our lives are soon to be changed forever (in a good way) as we add another member to our family. We can't wait for him to join us!

zoo, yes...bunny ears, not so much

Cowgirl/Karate Kate

Inspired by a Dora the Explorer episode, Kate decided to be a cowgirl this afternoon, yelling what I interpreted as "yee-haw"! I love the big imagination inside this little peanut! Daddy has also been teaching her some karate moves he made up which sneak into the video too.
