Puddle Boots and Painting
This is Kate wearing her new puddle boots...

This is Kate not so happy that she cannot go outside in her puddle boots right now...

How time does fly! My daughter is a happy girl, but two things that make her extra happy are 1) being outside and 2) painting! I have been waiting for a day just like today to bust out the washable paints! This is last summer...

Singing and Splashing in the Rain
After my wonderful husband gave me the amazing gift of sleeping in, I decided rather randomly that this was the perfect morning to let Kate try out her raincoat. She has been asking for "puddle boots" for a week now, but since I haven't found any her size we use her snow boots instead...a soggy idea, but oh well. I love how she gets so excited about the smallest things!

Sunny Days
Yesterday was just plain gorgeous outside, so Kate and I decided to plant flowers in the backyard. She thoroughly enjoyed digging in the dirt, looking for earthworms and watering the soon-to-be-seedlings.

So my daughter and I are playing an exhilarating game of "I Spy" when I say: I spy something white (meaning the white house across the lawn). She quickly answers while patting my leg: Mommy white!
Loving this weather!

Daddy and son

Our little toddler had to be squirted off afterwards...unfortunately for more reasons than one!

Lil Bit 'bout Week 2
It has been a good, busy but relaxing week. Adjusting to life with 4 in the house has had its moments, but has by far been better than what I had pictured in my head. My mom was able to fly in from California to stay with us and help out this past week. Not only did we have terrific meals each night, but she did the grocery shopping, spoke encouragement every chance she got and was quite the doting Mama Lynn to Kate and Baby Joseph. We all loved having her here and Kate cried at the front door when she had to leave. Thanks Mom for all you did and continue to do for me and my growing family!
Kate played for hours in her room dressing her dolls and animals, tucking them in and waking them up, then repeating the whole sequence over and over. She is using sentences now and her vocabulary expands daily. Her latest phrase additions: "oopsy-daisy", "oh man", "uh-oh-spaghetti-o"
Practicing butterfly dances (funny how she won't take the wings off now even though she wanted nothing to do with them at her butterfly themed party a few weeks ago)!
